zx 9/12r Motor

Hey. Can anyone help me, I am looking to put a zx12r motor in a zx9r frame and I am wondering whether it is possible. Any comments or website links would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi.
It can be done.. but it needs a lot of cutting and welding if you want it to
hold up.

Take a look at my bike at

Wow... I was told a zx-12 motor won't fit into a 1994 ZX9 frame. Are you talking about cutting the frame to squeeze one in?

I sure would like to have 1200cc in my 94 zx9r :) but hate the thought of cutting on the FRAME.

ZX9R, it's what I'm riding when I'm not riding my wife.

Hi your bike has to be the best zx9r in the world for power,
could i make one at full height without the turbo and get enough clearance under the exhaust to ride on the road?
i know your is lowerd but i dont want it grounding out in a bend and spitting me off.
Thanks Jason

That bike is just awsome! But what really gets my interest is: if you can put a 9R motor into a 7R, and you can put a 12R motor into a 9R than it follows that it could be possible to put a 12R motor into a 7R with the same modifications required for the 9R. That would be the ultimate sleeper bike! Maybe its time to find a 7R frame  .

Hi Mats. Is there anyway you can do a write up of How to or something on this project? Or, if you can, make a motor mount kit and sell them? That would make you some money. And does this make the bike's clearance lower since the motor is bigger? Very interesting in this project. Thanks in advance. (pshh, if anyone else has information on ZX9R/12R motor, let me know please. I might pay you if the info is helpful)
