Actual Top speed of a 96+ 7R?

No speedo crap please, no fluff. Just want to know what the 7R pulls to in the real world, flat out and/or 1 mile. I've heard quotes of 165-170 but hearing something actual would be nice! Thanks in advance.

Ali, I owned a 1996 ZX-7R with a full pipe, flatslide carbs, etc.... bike was rock solid in the twisties, but didn't run worth a damn up top on the highway. Best I got was 155mph.

Been thinking about hopping on one and running a gsxr 750 or 2 around here. Figured its gotta have a leg up on the gixxers in the ram air department, which may get the HP at the end close. The 7R is heavy but with me on it and maybe some minor weight reduction it might not be so bad. I went 7.2 in the 1/8 on an srad 600 but 7.3 on the 7R. It seemed to not p/u as much once in 3rd...same ET as my old F2 FWIW.

Still kicking around the idea...nothing like coming out on top with an underdog bike.

Top Speed

I personnaly went 165mph on my 7R. No wobbles. Has Full Yosh and jet kit. No windshield may have kept me from going faster but I'm not sure.

I'm not too sure but I know the '96 was a lot slower than my old '95 L3 model. I had a full Muzzy kit on it and a regular jet. On a trip down route 17 in VA, I ran with 2005 and 2006 1000's and we went 20 miles straight above 170. My speedometer showed 180mph but you know that's high. My peeps had GPS.
