Just picked up a 1987 ninja zx600r

Hey everyone, I used to visit these pages a lot in the past as I owned a 2000 ninja zx12r for some years. Recently I havnt been in a position to own a bike and finally changed that. Picked up a very clean 1987 ninja zx600r with 17k miles for $500. Only ran with starter fluid so I pulled the carbs and cleaned them, didnt do any syncing as i have no clue how lol. Bike still had bogging then out of nowhere cleared up and runs great. Probably not perfect as im not sure how these bikes run normally but it revs freely right up to redline. I did oil/filter change and plugs already as well. Brake pads are on the way too.

So far I love the bike, not quite what im used to but making the best of what ive got. Id like to do something with the exhaust, 4-1 would be awesome but money wise maybe just remove the baffles out of the stock pipes? Would I be able to get away with not having to rejet the carbs? Any opinions on what I can do to the bike as far as mods go or things to look out for? Any ways to lighten it up without breaking the bank? Thanks

Nice, especially for $500.

Thanks, definetly felt like a steal. I had it running decent but was starving for fuel and now running poorly again. Going to pull the carbs and thoroughly clean again and then sync them. Bikes already registered so just need to get the damn thing running lol.
