Will the 04 636 fit in the 05 636??

I was told that the 04 636 is the same motor as the 05 636,, I have an 05 bike and wanted to know if the 04 motor fits in the 05 frame and dose the computer and harness from the 05 work with the 04 motor?? Thank you..

In 05 the cams were changed and secondary injectors were added. So the computer for an 05 will not work with an 04 motor because of the lack of secondary injectors on the 04 that the 05 computer will try to send a signal to.

The motor mounts might be the same but why bother if you have to change the computer and the throttle bodies to an 04 also.

You are better off finding an 05 or 06 motor.
