Looking at a new 2011 ZX14. Is this a good deal?

Dealer has a brand new 2011 ZX14 on the lot, and is looking to get rid of it for their new 2012s.

I was offered a price of $11,500 and I think I could probably talk them to $10.5-> $11

Is this a good price for that bike? And more importantly are there any major known problems with the 2011 ZX14s?

Thanks! Also First post of many hopefully!

$11.5k is too much. Try for about $10.5k out the door....I would offer $10k, personally.

No issues with the 2011...beautiful, reliable, machines.

Hmm, you think I could go that low? Well, ill give it a shot! I think its a pretty low volume dealership so I might not be able to get the best deal on earth but I would really like to see 10.5.

Also, its great to hear that they sound pretty bullet proof.

Would you say that they are comfortable enough for a reasonably long ride with a passenger? I am looking for something beefy for me but nice enough to handle two people.

300-500 miles in a day would be very comfortable and easy....with a couple of stops for eats or fuel, whatever. If you want to get an idea of how low the price can go, call John at Cycle World in NJ, and tell him Shane sent you...

You could buy it there, and ride it home...(weather permitting)...

Bought my '11 Busa there, and my '12 14R...great dealership, and great support/sales experience from John.

2011- $11,300
2012- $13,300

So my dealership 2-3k miles closer to me for $200 more isn't that far off. Thanks, getting a second opinion is always a good thing.

Yeah, go with your local dealer at that cost! John quoted me better prices in the past, but I am a repeat customer...

Yea, I suppose I could have talked to the wrong guy. It would have to be $10k or a bit less for me to justify flying out there and riding it home/ shipping it up here.

You can PM me the number, I will hold onto it for a bit. It is currently snowing outside :( so it will be a month or two before I pull the trigger yet!

Thanks, you have been a huge help!

Hmm depending on the color that would be quite a steal! Were there any changes made between the two years?
