Pointing out pros and cons is the title so the title is ASKING for negative as well as positive feedback. That is what I read in this thread. If I could get a word in? I'm a proud 2000 ZX12 owner and I love this bike. Hell I know it's not the fastest bike in my town! that does not bother me! I guess I'm not the type that has to feel that what I have is superior to others. I simply love bikes of all types and I like the 12 so much that I'm never going to get rid of mine. I will always have it even when I get a new bike. However I would like to weigh in on a few points.

I'm not in the market (yet) for a new bike at the moment. But if I was it would have to be between the Zx14 and the busa. I'm a 300lbs guy so a liter bike is out of the question for me. So I think the busa would be a better comparison. Let's face it both of these bikes are not bought because of their looks.

My friend has a 07 ZX14 and we have swap bikes for a few trips so I will just give the pros and cons that I noticed.

Pros:
crazy power on both top and bottom
Smooth
Braking (the best)
Handles well for a big bike very stable
lights great at night
Not near as many people have them as the busa

Cons:
looks ugly (about like a busa)
Does not have the rep of the busa
It feels more like a tour bike in some ways
it's not as fast as the new busa (from what I've heard)
I can't afford one right now! (LOL!)

No matter what anyone says the 14 is if not the best bike Kawi has ever made it is close to it! I can see many points that the 12 does have in it's favor. But the 14 is the latest offering. With out getting into a "my bike is better" thread I think Kawi should take another look at the 12 and add these points to the next Gen of 14's! I mean the 14 is a ZZR so why not a ZX version with the 12 qualities? Hell I'd take a 3rd job to get one! LOL!
