stop and tail light bulb holders

Hi all,

I need to carry out a repair on the bulb holders, I do not want to damage either the plastic outer housing or the inner bulb holder (metal part) (as they are in good condition) I have tried pulling the bulb holder part out of the plastic housing with pliers but would not come out.

How do you separate them? are they glued in? and do you have to warm the plastic to get them out?

And the two circular metal contact points inside the bulb holder (what is the correct name for them and where could I get new ones from as you can see from the pictures they worn.

Thanks.

How to guide can be found here as there the same as the zx9 ones. Just click on the picture place holders and you'll get the pictures. zx-9r.net ? View topic - Rear Tail & Brake light cluster loom fixing.

For Tech Questions Bike Model letters are more useful than saying the year, for uk owners anyway, as registration year is not always year of manufacturer model.

Ah... yes, not easy to do that. If the earth wires are corroded, what I did was I managed to clean a bit of the wire and dropped a bit of solder in to make contact better.

I don't remember finding a way to separate the bulb holder from the plastic surround. It maybe easier to source a spare of ebay. There only £23 new, or here is a USA list of bikes using the same thing.
