i cant catch a break

I just cant catch a break....so I found the problem with stator the wire was completely broke inside the cover. got it all fixed took her for a ride and all was good. got her home turned her off and tried to turn her on and starter was turning motor over slow wouldn't start. hooked up to jumper cables and still the same thing turning over slow then would sound like starter spinning free. then I got absolutely nothing but a click from the solenoid. bike turns on primes as usual and when I hit the starter button it just clicks. I tried crossing solenoid and it didn't do anything. so I tried roll starting it first tied it tried to start second time fired right up and I was able to drive turn it off hit start button and just a click from solenoid nothing else happens. so seeing how I was hearing slow turning of motor like it wasn't spinning fast enough and knowing it was a brand new battery from that day and even on jump starter it would do anything but make weird noises before it wouldn't even do that. colts on battery read good too. so do you guys think its the starter or what?

Generally speaking, do you have any idea how much time the bike has set outside? What's the general state of corrosion and oxidation on it?

Electrical problems suck. Any starting problems I had were traced to:
Old / dead battery
Failed stator - R/R connection
Corrosion under the battery leads that clamp to the battery terminals

I've never had a motorcycle starter fail, including bikes that were 5-15 yrs old.

When you say you tried crossing your solenoid, I don't know what that means.
I also don't know what "colts on battery" means.

Your regulator can be bad. This is what controls how much charge to give the battery. If it is busted, it either will over or under charge the battery.

I've had it on the jumper and it still would just click and I went and bought a new battery. So then I took the starter out jumped it and it is dead. It wouldn't spin or respond...
