2002 Candy Thunder Blue Plastic for Sale

I posted my set of blue OEM plastic for sale on one of the Facebook ZX12R riders' groups. Price as posted is $500, plus $50 or less for shipping.

My first desire was to sell it as a set. I figure that gives the most flexibility and security for the buyer. If I broke it down into parts, I could probably more easily sell some than others. I don't really want to get stuck with just a couple pieces like a fender and tank cover.

Any interest here??

I can fully document the condition if desired. Generally speaking, I have ridden it with these pieces this year, and regularly every year.

I have a 04 model blue and looking for a second set of fairings. Could you provide more info? anything wrong with them? Thanks. If in good shape, I am very interested in the whole set. If it does not work out with the first person who posted above, that is, of course!

@Canadianzx12r

@Hibs has expressed an interest, as stated above, and I shared with him what I'm now posting here. He and I have not come to any agreement. We can be civil and respect one another's position in line, but unsold is unsold ultimately.

Here are the notes I put in the Facebook riders group:

Selling my full blue plastic kit. I also have dash panels and inner fairings, but they are optional. I'm including the pieces most often damaged. If interested in the optional pcs please let me know.

Very little damage, as follows:
1. Large nose fairing has a small missing middle post on inner right, used to support the headlight assy. Top and bottom posts are intact, so stability is fine.
Also, left ear is cracked behind left mirror mount. Was previously glued. Does not support a load, and is stable when shield is present.

2. Left side fairing. Lower scratches below sight line (close to the ground), and scuffed above ZX-12R decal. Has partial puncture from inside, behind the "2" in the same decal. Not punched through!

3. Rear seat cowl. Left locating pin is partially broken, but holding. Epoxy would work to stabilize here. Pic shows the partial break circled in red.

4. Right side fairing. Light heat damage from pipe exit. Superficial to the original paint overspray, hidden.

Damaged areas shown in the pics. I have not taken closer pics of the rest of the fairings. All other areas are in good condition, typical of a regularly washed, garage-kept, 15 yr old ZX12R. If you want more pics, I can take them after work and post within 24 hrs.

Thank you for the pics...I am looking for a second set of fairings in near perfect condition, as I have zero experience (and have not had good luck) fixing fairing cracks and such before. I think I will hold off and buy a new set in time if I can still find one and the $$. Good luck with the sale man.

@laylow

You are correct, I waited 2 weeks to sell them privately either here or on one of the Facebook rider groups. No one was interested, so I put them on ebay.
They sold QUICK after that, and I might add for quite a bit more than the $500 I asked here. I guess buyers just want or need a piece here or there.

So...SOLD...ALL GONE...
