Radiator Caps

I've just bought a radiator cap rated at 1.6bar to replace mine on my B4H as mine was a bit rusty and the price was a steal. Any harm in fitting a slightly higher rated capacity over the original on a 12?

The A2 had a higher one, and then the B's went back to the A1's, you have to wonder why kawasaki did this????

A1 14 to 18psi
A2 16 to 21psi

21psi = 1.4479 bar

1.6 kgf/cm2 = 22.7573 PSi
1.6 Bar = 23.206 psi

I can only think that the extra psi may blow the pipes off, or bust the radiator or blow a seal in the cooling system somewhere.
So if you are going to use it, make sure your fans are working well to keep the temperature down.

For Tech Questions Bike Model letters are more useful than saying the year, for uk owners anyway, as registration year is not always year of manufacturer model.

I run a 1.8 bar radiator cap on my A2. You should be just fine using the 1.6 bar.

I assume with the concern with over heating Kawasaki upped the cap on the A2 but addressing the issue with the twin fans on the B model reverted back to the lower pressure cap.
Seems very common across sports bikes to up the cap pressure especially on hard ridden/modified bikes. Will be changing coolant and maybe radiator if I pluck up the confidence to fit the Chinese variety and also a set of AS3 Silicone hoses.
