I've read where guys have dropped the motor to do the plugs. I don't know about that but for now this works. I've since got the fancy tool for future use.

For reference. This were new oem filters installed ~ 6 months/ 6000 miles ago. Bike is ridden mostly in town with occasional interstate.

Reference between 200/50 and 200/55 shinkos. Got 7000 miles out of the 50 then lit it up in the driveway and spent half hour cleaning it up. Gotta take it to the neighbors driveway next time

Hey bikerx I liked your image. This ones for you. This is when the bike was reunited with its missing cover. Not an easy find. I'm going with it's maintenance related because that's how the bike came stock.

I'm in the city where it is basically stop light to light. Out of town the roads bend but that's a minimum of a 2.5 hour round trip. Regardless of the roads I'll never own another 12r in this condition. So even with the opportunities nearby to stick it through s turns I'd rather have that for a different ride.

7k miles is perhaps just an indicator that it's possible to ride the bike and not have to replace tires frequently as I had anticipated.

This is what out of town riding can offer. This is part of the rocky mountains that run north/south of the continent in a state known for a large density of mountain peaks over 14000 ft. Not much bends per se but lots of opportunities to just ride.

Cheers

I know what you mean. It can be tricky in the city lots of times motorists want a go with you so the temptation is high. Moms in minivans, you name it, they want some. Some form of restraint a definite must have.
