Post Disappionting top speed.

I did a recent top speed challenge at Elvington, Yorkshire. I could only do the Saturday & there was abit of a side/head wind. Only did 139.863 mph from a standing start 1 mile.
The Sunday the times were up a fair bit.
Speed O was out 10mph as well.

Smiffy...?!?!? What are you talking about??? Fantastic run!!! Awesome pic too How did the 12 handle with the throttle pinned for a mile?
My first pass on a lowered 12 with a sidewinder and race gas was 180s. It's not easy racing against the clock. Your set up has to cut a lot of air, and air at speed is a battle. Good job!!!

You too Ken, the bike looks fantastic! How fast did you go???

If I'd of known you were going over I'd of popped in.

For Tech Questions Bike Model letters are more useful than saying the year, for uk owners anyway, as registration year is not always year of manufacturer model.

Thanks for your kind words . been told that it's a good speed for an "old 3 wheeler" but you know what it's like, always want to go faster! lol

I think Ken12R could only get 190.551 mph, with the wind Saturday. I was told he let Beverley Burrows have ago & she (least I think it's a she) got 202.334mph on Sunday.

Yeah never thought about saying we were going over Yorkie. sorry.

Thanks to Phil Evans for the Pictures

I wouldnt be disappointed at all!
At least you have a track to go and do speed runs!
I'm also wondering what your gearing is like with those rear tyres compared to a normal street bike tyre?

Hi Steve.
The height of my tyres are prity much the same as a normal bike tyre. but are 225 / 60 x15. But I did gear it down for this run to 16/46. & was at 10500 RPM 5th gear.
For normal road use I use 17/46 as it's abit revy with the 16 on.

Cheers for all your comments. Might do it again next year with different wheels though?

Big fun weedy64.
Most of our tracks are disused or light use air strips.
