STX 15 hybrid

Anyone used motor parts from kawa 1500 jetski in their 12?
Wondering if crank and block interchange. Cast or forged pistons?
12r head bolts on ....
Its based on 12r engine.... ??

Turbo2112 has done a lot of work with the ski engine parts. Timing chain and guides, water entrance and exits, oil return all issues.

Thanks cmg - I came across an old article on dragbike.com someone in Australia using one in top fuel running sixes! :-)
I asked as it intruiged me.
However I guessed it was not an easy low budget big cc route. But if it was... 1500 cc ! :-)

it worked in that top fuel bike because they dont run the trans in the engine cases, so they used ski cases, crank, block, etc and a 12r head.

the block needs serious work to be used with the 12 cases, and you are still limited by the cases for stroke.

Dont know how i missed this thread .the stx crank does not have a drive or starter gear to much work to weld and cut gears on the crank.so i just welded stock crank and ground it 65mm stroke reason for stx block taller deck. And longer sleeves below the deck so pistons dont pull out of block with longer stroke. Cut and weld case lot of work aiming for 1510cc.put it on the back burner for now trying to get other bikes finished limeted time
