Hi all my front end on the old 12 has not been feeling to grand as of late so i am treating her to a new front
I am waiting on the forks triples and calipers from an A7F zx14 to turn up this week, but in the mean time i have stripped the old setup from the 12.

I have noticed that the top bearing on the steering stem is smaller the the bottom bearing on the stem 25mm top internal diameter and the bottom is 35mm ID.
This means that i will have to machine the zx14 steering stem to accomodate the smaller top bearing. Newer generation 12s have the same size bearings top and bottom so its nearly a straight swap to my annoyance !

Will post some more progress in the week when the forks arrive.

Jay i like the lower position better as i like to tuck behind the windscreen more even at 70-80mph so the new pos is so much better tbh :thumb up:
Im 6ft 2 and the way my arms bend into my sides is about right for aerodynamics and comfort.

But if you like to be sat bolt upright then this is not the mod for you unless you fitted raisers.

I know jay but i think with the 47t rear it's also made the bike a little more eager to lift the front and its shortened the wheelbase as I'm power sliding more than i ever have and I've got the new bsb pirelli on both front and back and their super sticky.
Im going to be careful on the 12 until the scotts damper is fitted as i don't want what happened today to ever effect me again thats for sure !
No wonder bikes come with them standard these days, don't be stupid and fit one guys and girls they do serve a purpose.

Important words for everyone...

I'll bet you'll make sure every sport bike you own from no on has one. I've never had it, and will do my part to never have it happen. I think I spent a total of $500 on mine, including install by my builder. Considering what others spend on their bikes for other upgrades, this should be the first mod...
