A young motorcyclist who overestimates his abilities, boasts of his riding skills when in reality he has none. Squid bikes are usually decorated with chrome and various anodized bits. Rear tyres are too wide for their own good, swingarm extended. Really slow in the corners, and sudden bursts of acceleration when a straight appears. Squids wear no protection, deeming themselves invincible. This fact compounds intself with the fact that they engage in 'extreem riding'--performing wheelies and stoppies in public areas. Squids wreck alot. Derived from 'squirly kid'

An extremely rare animal with a short lifespan. Usually a new sport bike enthusiast with the reasoning of a lunatic, whom you might see thrashing on an R1 wearing sandals, shorts, and a tee.
When found lying motionless on the pavement, this creature transforms itself into a stream of blood, exposed flesh, and broken limbs. Hence the squid moniker.

There are to many squids in Perth, long sunny days. Not a day goes by without spotting one.

I dont fully understand the definiton of this term.
I used to read r1-forum, and there guys get crazy about calling everybody squid. For them even rider who split lanes, and pop a wheelie in traffic is a squid, break speed limit, or dont ride in full gear.

thats pretty much as it was described.....

Short and a tshirt and riding wheelies on the highway is pretty much a dead giveaway.
That would be a #1 squid.

I would describe a 'squid' just like they're all saying; a rider who doesn't wear gear and rides way beyond their skill level. To me a 'squid' in the motorcycle world is comparable to a 'ricer' or 'rice burner' in the car world. I will admit, I at one point was a 'squid'... and yes, I am greatly ashamed. I never rode outside of my skill level per say, but I did ride with essentially no go outside of a helmet. It took something happening for my to realize the importance of gear. First a rock hitting my hand = I got gloves. A beetle slamming into my chest (left a damn welt) = jacket. Shoes almost literally melting/falling apart = Riding boots. Jeans getting destroyed around corners = I need riding jeans

Strictly for educational purposes... this is a 'squid' and yes... that is me. Notice the short sleeve shirt, jeans, plain shoes... upsetting I know.

I still go out on really nice (warm) days without my jacket on... I always wear my helmet and gloves, I just avoid highways tho... just not worth the risk to me.

Whenever I have my gf with me, I try my best to make sure she wears all of her gear, even bought her a cute little pink helmet with matching pink gloves and jacket but she hates the jacket saying its too hot... doesn't like wearing the gloves... and the helmet messes up her hair
