Pig spotter mirrors that work??

...Going to be ordering a set of pig spotter mirrors from "tobefast.com".Trying to decide between a pair of neon or airbrushed. Are these mirrors just for looks and "totally" useless for visability?? I have to be able to see behind me enough to make sure that "man" is not sneaking up behind me undetected.
Thanks...

i spent like 120.00 on a pair that looked like cf and the mirrors look totally cool on the bike but they are completly useless. you cant see shit with these mirrors. now they live on my shelf in the garage.

if you want to see behind you, there is no other mirror for you then the ZX14 mirrors. They are the same as the '05 12 mirrors, except longer arms. So you can easily see behind you in leathers. I now do not have to turn my head, as i see everywhere behind me.

I picked up a set for about $50 on ebay.

x2... the 14 mirrors, just give you that extra view... I can see directly behind me from both sides, while still seeing the complete next lane. With the stock mirrors, I could only seen the lanes next to me, not directly behind me.

...I currently have the "monza" mirrors that i ordered off of e-bay some time ago. Only problem i have had with them is that they tend to loosen up with a lot of wheelies. But once i used lock tite all was good. They are about a third of a size of the stock mirrors and are acceptable for seeing behind you. I like the looks of the pig spotters and would like to try them out, but if all they are is fairing ornaments, then i might have to pass, unless they can be modified some way to give somewhat of a rear view?

That is all they are. They are just so you do not get pulled over for not having mirrors.

I would never rely on a mirror that does not stick out further then my shoulders. If the are narrower then your shoulders you will only be able to see behind you in the lanes next to you at most. A mirror that is wider then you shoulders will allow you to see behind you in YOUR lane. To me, this is WAY more important then how any mirror looks. I want to be able to see if a car is riding too close to me, so I can drop it and get out before they kill me.

I'm lookin at the Dino inboards...course they will be just to satisfy the requirement of mirrors..

I ALWAYS turn my head and check before changing lanes and to check what kind of morons are around me. Mirrors leave blind spots....

Besides...you go past a cop, here anyways, over 130, they don't even waste their time...their cars top out round there...

You have 2 choices...if you were "playing", you either buck up and take the ticket, or hit it and pray....I know here they won't chase ya if you hit it...they'll just wait till they see you again.....that whole public safety thing..it's riskier to chase a bike than let it go...there's always tomorrow...

Or if they get your plate....they'll be waiting at home for ya......happened to buddy once on a ZX9R...outran them...but there was 4 squads waiting at his house when he got there...

...Do you have the "original" pigspotter mirrors or the "pigspotter 2", which claim to be much improved for rear visability Rick?
