Engine Rebuild

I have just a few questions. First, what is the reason to remove the crankshaft counter balancer? and second, what is est to use as a sealer between the casing halves? Any help would be appreciated.

its like lightening the crank as far (as performance goes). something you may or may not want to do.
i use permatex ultra black now. it sticks as good, if not better than the threebond kawi uses in my expirience

Threebond 1211, is the stuff I use....Remember whatever you use, you don't have to overdo it..it only takes alittle bit to seal the cases

Just my .25 cent worth

Thanks for the info, and fyi: its for a race only bike so the vibration isnt that much of an issue.

keep in mind you don't simply remove the counterbalancer and call it good. you either gotta put in a dummy shaft or block off the oil ports for it.
