i was runnig the bike bike down the highway and it started cutting out in high rpms the only thing ive done since last time i ran it was adjusted the cam chain tensioner. could that have something to do with it or should i look at something else? its an 02 with 14000 miles on it

how long since its had spark plugs i personally would change them if its never had them tightening the cam chain should make the bike run more efficant.i would try to find out exactly what has been done to that motor if you can still get in contact with the previace owner

it may also be sigh's that the fuel pump is on its way out or fuel filter blocked

if it works fine at normal speeds id look at the fuel filter first

you will need to remove the pump and clean or replace the mesh filter.

also did you check all the fuel lines and any small pipes etc are not pinched when you had the tank lifted if you did while doing the cct.

I'd check all of the above first as it's easy but if you've been fiddling around near the cams it may be worth checking the camshaft sensor...

It may be breaking down whuile trying to cope with the signal at high rpms....

Does the charge system work and the battery fully charged? Easy enough to check. Coils like the electric juice.
