Got some new stuff put on...

Well I got my $40.00 e-bay hugger and my zx14 mirrors put on the other night.

The hugger is the el-cheap-O abs plastic one. It took about two-three hours of trimming and fitting to get it right... had it on and off the bike about 15-20 times. Then once it fit right and was mounted, had to heat it with the heat gun, to get it to relax and get rid of the preload in it. (was way too wide to fit the swingarm, the way it was formed)

But now it looks / fits pretty damn good. Got a number of compliments on it at the bike night on Tuesday. "How did you get both sides even? Mine is alott closer on one side than the other..."
:-) ...much patience my son... :lol

The zx14 mirrors were another e-bay score (both for $60 to my door)
They are just as big and heavy as the stockers, so for those looking to save weight... you won't like em'
But they are about an inch wider on each side and the difference in viewable area is amazing.
I can see stuff all the way from the oposite lane, clear across to my "blind spot" in each mirror.
These things are great for spotting cops in traffic.

Sorry no pics, my camera is busted...

You know the rules Dave: Pics, or it didn't happen.
Are the 14 mirrors a direct fit?

yep, looks to me like the outer assy (the mirror itself) is identical...

just the stalks that they mount on have a *little bit* of a curve to em, and they're about 1" longer on each side - so the mirror sits out wider.

I made the connection when my friend Kory bought a new 14 the other week... he was parked right next to me at the weekly bikenight and I started comparing one to the other.

If somebody snaps a shot of it this weekend, I'll post it.

I posted about them looking like they would fit a month or so back. My buddy has a 14 and I was looking at how they were exactly the same except the arm was longer. I plan on trying this at some point, since I have wide shoulders and leather's dont help either...

Indeed, I'd like to see pics of these mirrors installed as well.

I rather like the look, adjustability, and quality of the stock "B" model mirrors, but I'd like them to be out just a tiny bit further. I've seen where some extensions are made by some outfit, but they weren't all that attractive. Wondering if these 14 mirrors might be a "prettier" solution. :)

14 mirrors

Riding in traffic every day I think the stockers are out far enough and I still tap a cars side view mirrors every other week or so! But I could appreciate the viewing real estate offered by a 14's mirror, if this is the case.

BTW pics are always nice to have when posting!!!

I can't tell by your pic. Do you have and A or B 12? I have an A and was wondering if the 14 mirrors would fit.

PNWRIDERS.COM Saturday is the weekly vancouver meet, Tuesday is the weekly meet over in Beaverton, etc.. very active group. Something going on every night of the week. Either a standing ride or a bike night or something... (good group)

I know, I know... but I smoked my paypal acount on brake parts and boots and mirrors and ... this month. So replacing my busted camera will have to wait a couple weeks.

I've got a B (2005), but they all swap, direct bolt on.

Not bad I say! A few shots from other angles would have been nice, they look as though they lay out more.....nice nonetheless!
