Post ~~~CALLING ALL 12 OWNERS~~~(Dealerships)

I need to know 1 thing.
WHAT/WHERE IS THE BEST DEALERSHIP FOR ZX-12 OWNERS ? (East/Mid-West/West & International)
Heck, if you can all break them down in order from least to favorite, I'd take that too.

are you talking service dept.? if thats the case the best thing to do is buy a service manual and a bunch of tools. saves tons of money and you always know you're not getting screwed with.

I agree, most of us work on our own bikes.....I don't trust any shops, I took my bike in to the dealer I bought it from since the first service was FREE, but I stayed right in front of the tech while he was checking my bike out. Like everything in life there aren't too many folks really care, just there to make money. That is why they are struggling to make money, they are not honest so no one will go to them. I sure am glad for these Forums where we help each other out

I'm not sure I understand the question.
I highly doubt that many here (if anyone) would opt to take their bike to a dealer.

I agree with most of you here. I guess I had to experience it before I made my ultimate decision. That's why I joined this forum, so that I can start training myself as much as possible.

My bike is at a dealership now, and originally they wanted to charge me more than 1600USD but I paid attention to the details and realized I needed a new Fuel Regulator to compliment my fuel pump and upgrades. I knocked the price of labor down to 200USD.

BUT sometimes, I just do feel like trying to work on my bike so I am curious as to who's got the most respect out there. That's All.

Find a local guy, who knows bikes well, and WANTS your business. Most work out of little shops out of row garages.

For sure I turn my own wrenches, for sure...

I thought u were asking where to find a ZX12 (around here they are rare). I have the only one (that I have seen) within 3 hours of my area. Jonesboro Cycle&ATV in Jonesboro AK is where I bought mine. Checked their site a while back and they have since added two more to their show room.

, i was just there yesterday (saw your bike actually, looks descent!) I carried in my rims when i needed new tires mounted a few weeks ago and they did a good job for cheap. I had to order some new wheel bearings, so i picked them up yesterday. I try to do all my own work, but if there was ever a time I couldn't do something i would have no second thoughts on letting them work on my bike. everyone i've seen there knows what they are doing and are very friendly. Hell, the owner Rick is out racing like every other weekend. Ali is at some land speed even every month. That is very re-assuring to me personally.

Good to see the both of you guys yesterday! I'd like to see DC's bike tuned...there is some potential in that bad boy. Hibs' 12 brings back memories of what a stocker looks like, its been a long time.

Dealerships are going to vary for your region. Service departments should have more reputation though... in Bremerton there is the infamous Mike Velasco.

Yeah Buddy...For now, I just dropped one of my Pre-Made Maps on it and got my gas mileage back up to 120 per tank. When I rolled out of your shop, I was getting only 86 before I started getting that blinking Low Fuel. I was like, WTF. (Bucking Like a horse is gone!)
The previous dealership is finally talking...Whoo-hooooo Once it's done, let's tune up!

I do most of the basics myself, anything that I can't do or choose not to do I take it to EDR Performance in Portland OR.

They are a local shop that does most of the work for the areas racers.

I do all my work on my 12 and my past bikes. In fact I got so good at it I now work at a stealership as a mechanic lol.I never thought riding would give me a decent career.Glad to see all those tickets and high speed pursuits led to something worth while.

Well, after all the drama I had with my bike, I sure did learn a hell of a lot.
