buy an Arai.....one of he very best. They used to have a helmet that hit a sign post @ 120mph. The guy had no head trama. Your results may differ :)

I have an AGV Ti-Tech in size large. When I got mine it was the top of the line from AGV and was around $500; today you can pick one up for around $300 now that AGV introduced the GP-Tech. I used to wear Shoei but really like the snug fit the Ti-tech offers which keeps the helmet from moving at speed and trying to get sucked off my head. My old Shoei X8 (yeah, it's old but I still have it because it was never dropped and is a Kocinscki replica) lifts and buffets at speed--not a great feeling. I have a difficult time with Arai's because most of the models are for round heads and the select few that fit a long oval head are pretty dull looking and pricey.

I have a Shoei Z-II and X-11 but there's one thing that would tempt me to buy an Akuma helmet if I they had any paint schemes I liked. I don't know if the quality or the fit is good but there's a few of the helmets they sell that incorporate a photochromatic shield that darkens in sunlight and lightens in the shade. Now they're suppose to make a Tint-on-demand visor that allows you to control if it's dark or not but there's no date as to when they'll sell it. It's also been said they'll sell it for other helmets to but again, who know's when. Cool stuff though.

I had an AGV V-flyer that was nice but didn't block out wind noise too well, then I got a Shoei RF1000 that is a much better fit for my head and much quieter as well.
Just make sure you try on a couple helmets from all the big manufacturers, they all have different "fits", one will fit your head better than the others.

I just bought my second Shoei RF1000. Not bad noise at the high speed :D
Now I just have to transfer my speakers and BlueTooth.
Helmuts are ALOT about what fits your head the best. Some brands just don't fit well on my big gorrilla egg head.

I recommend Scorpion EXO-1000 or 700....these helmets are very much high quality for the prices comparing to some expensive helmets. I have such huge head that I can only wear 3XL and only 2 or 3 companies make them. I now have Shoei RF-1000 which I love but only part of the pads will come out for cleaning unlike Scorpion helmets all the pads inside the helmet can be removed to wash. I had EXO-400 since they only offer 3XL.....but it was still too tight so I sold it. I dealt with Scorpion and Shoei folks, I highly recommend both companies, customer service from both companies are very much helpful.

I wear nothing BUT Arai, BUT others that I have high opinions of like Shoei . It comes down to what fits your noodle the best. Shoei just don't feel right to me. I like my helmet tight on my cheeks and Arai does that best... You can't go wrong with either of these two. I know nothing about any other brands and I never price shop when it comes to my safety gear..
