ACE PERFORMANCE PROJECT BIKE - "The Shinobi Experiment"

Now that I'm ready to begin the final stages of my project, I decided to make my heap an official "project bike" with dedicated webpage and all. The domain name (The Shinobi Experiment) has been purchased and I'm in the begining stages of designing the website. The site will include pictures, video, specs, race results, rider bio, bike history, etc.

My goal is to have the bike complete and the website launched by Jan. 1, 2009.

If anyone has any ideas for the website or something you'd like to see, please let me know. Thanks guys!

- Mike

nice logo. maybe you should offer shirts and stickers exclusively to fellow racers with the design on it. with the words on the front and a big logo on the back it'd look pretty cool. possibly have a team of shinobi racers

The name Shinobi is used as a code-name throughout the series to hide the true identity of its bearer.

sounds about right for an Ace setup lol
I wonder how many specs will be available? you know the good stuff like cam timing, rev limits, compression ratio ect ect :)

Specs will be "General", nothing proprietary such as cam timing/lift/duration or A/F but compression, bore/stroke, dyno info (yeah just for giggles) and such will be available.

***UPDATE***

Just finished the content portion of the Specs page.... aside from wet weight and hp/tq figures which I need to get at the end of the project.

cool, you are running a fair bit more compression than me, better run good gas with the nitrous :)
Fully Programable Mitsubishi 16-bit ECU now theres something you dont see every day.
since we cant have cam specs can we have ign specs? Im curious as to how many degrees you run with that compression

Hey Jeff, is your bike back together? Pic's whenever she is done!

Just reading what Phantom has done here is interesting, very much like reading Entrophy's works (he has had a few) so I can't wait to see how it pans out....

The compression is at a streetable level, still runs on pump gas. I always knew the engine was going to see some nitrous... but I wanted it to run strong N/A too, so we settled at 13.2:1 which is 1 full point over stock. We plan on running C16 on the spray along with cooler plugs and retarded timing.

As for ignition timing, it differs between bikes. We built a clone of my engine for Dale's 12R (he bought Kid Rock's ZX-12R from the movie Bikerboyz) and it wanted much different timing. Even on stock engines, we've seen them want anywhere from stock to +4 degree, all with just a pipe/pc3.

Interesting. thanks. Mine is just a hair over stock compression ratio. about 12.5:1 (math showed 12.47:1). I was willing to loose a couple NA hp in order to make big gains on spray so i kept compression "low".I actually ran it by mistake on 87 octane and 5 degrees advanced. it liked it. Ill be running 5 this season coming (NA of course). I ran the 60 shot and 90 shot on 91 octane with I believe 3.5 and 7.5 degrees retarded from stock. I can double check if you want, i cant be sure of those numbers off the top of my head like the rest of them, and tuned for 11.7:1AFR or richer. I know 1/4 compared to a full mile is different, but it might help. this season im bumping up the wet shot to 80hp and seeing what happens, if all is good ill add the second stage, but run the wet kit on c16 instead of 91(highest we can get at the pumps). my wet kit has its own small fuel tank so it can run different gas then the rest of the bike. perfect for switching between NA and nitrous runs.

Yes thanks Edge

Its back up and running. I just need to keep a better eye out for those bastard sheep. We had two of your fellow countrymen/woman who were touring here and were attacked by a whole flock!!!. I nae joke to ya! One had to be helicoptered to Hospital with a broken leg. Vicious little woolly bastards.

I've got a few dozen pics .... need to take more, along with some video. Then I'll upload it all at the same time. The site is still under construction, I'm planning on making the homepage before I do the multimedia page.... stay tuned.

Hey Michael. Who hosts your website and what software do you use? I lost my sweet little website when AOL tatered all "hometown" websites.

I use Tripod, they provide a very easy to use editing program that can be accessed via their website so there's no downloading and it can be done anywhere.

Same way I built the AcePerformance.com website.

You can get a free account but they put those annoying ad banners on the top of every page. You can "upgrade" for like $4 a month to get rid of the banners and have an overkill of bandwidth and disk space. I could build 10 more AcePerformance.com-esque websites on the same $4-a-month Tripod account and still have space left over.

If you need any help, let me know. I've been using Angelfire/Lycos/Tripod for hosting for over 10 years.

I'm saving the pics for last. I'm working on some ideas for a music video composed of numberous races and whatnot to go along with some GOOD pictures instead of the ordinary pics I already have.

Keep in mind, this website is still UNDER CONSTRUCTION. I just figured I'd introduce it early to you guys here. Notice, I have not said a word about it on Bikeland.org. =)

This place is like home to me so I don't mind letting you guys get sneek peeks.

I remember that one! Long time since I've seen it. With the ZX-14 and Gen2 Busa, it would be cool to update the KINGS OF SPEED website with new mag comparos.

If anyone has any sources, let me know.
