I'm going to remove the fuel tank at the weekend so that I can service the fuel filter inside.
Before I do, I wondered if anyone had any tips or advice to help?
My first task would be to syphon as much fuel out of the tank as I can first. After that, I'm not sure how to procede in order to minimise spillage from the (from memory) 4 rubber pipes coming out of the tank.
The other area of concern I have is when replacing the tank and making sure there are no problems with air in the pipes.
Finally, it is my intention to try and re-use the seal that is exposed when the fuel-pump is removed from the tank. Basically, these seals are expensive in Australia and you have to order them in advance - hence the idea to try re-use it. If it is too knackered to be re-used, I might have to patch it up temporarily with silicon or something whilst I wait for the new one to arrive.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.
