Hey Team,
Just been out ridin round on a brand new ( 0 miles ) Z1000.

I do believe Kawasaki have a winner here. Very good looking bike.

It's really good to ride around town, with the normal bars etc, really different to a sport bike.

The 9 based engine is a gem, very smooth nice and revy. I did not give it a big rev being new, I will take it out again when its got a few more miles on it.

The gearbox feels alot better than the 12s too.

Instruments are quite cool, same as the 6 I think not really my cup of tea though.

Ride felt really good, I think it will be a force to be reckoned with on a tight , twisty road. I noticed it has the latest Bridgestones on it too.

Sweet bike.

Nice Job Kawasaki. 8)

Good looking bike, but I don't know.... having driven full fairing sportbikes for about the last 18 years I don't think the naked thing would work for me.

Just doesn't appeal to me. I like my wifey naked and my bike clothed.....

Kiwi, what does it sound like with that rude looking exhaust?
Kind of wondering the same thing!! Checked the shop again today, no Z1000. :( The boys did say the service manual only says 106hp US, 118 Europe, not the 140 produced by the 9R. Same motor, just a 2.5mm bigger bore. Sounds like there's room for improvement. :)

Ah yes the zoosts are somewhat different looking.

They are actually a 4 into 2 into 4  So they don't really sound like 4 pipes like the old Z1. They are pretty quiet ( of course ) and the look does kinda grow on you, but then so do genital warts.

Power wise it was hard to tell, being a brand new motor I did not want to abuse it. Power low down was good and the FI felt sorted.

I think its the sort of bike I would by as long as it wasn't my only bike, the color really gets peoples attention.
