I am Trying to replace the Battery in my Ninja, that has seemed to have finally given out on me. I have removed the Seats, the Tank cover, and the battery panel. I have also disconnected the all wires except for the Positive (+) cable and the Starter cable that is on the Inside of the BAttery box. When I try to remove the battery, it seems to be still connected in some way, but I cant see any other screws of cabels that are still connected. Please help, I am missing valuable seat time because of this... Thanks for the help...... :?: :?: :?: :?:
You have slid the entire battery tray out , correct?
Lift up and down on the tray, and and pull out at the same time
to slide out the battery tray from between the frame rails.
Once you can access the battery you remove the cables.
There is a plastic cover over the battery attached with a rubber strap.
Take that off and the battery should then lift out of the tray.
No I have not Gotten the BAttery tray out of the Bike. do I need to disconect the Power Cable as well(+) ?? After I have disconnected all the Cabels on the Negative side of the BAttery, there shouldnt be any other cables to disconnect Correct. if there are anymore cables please let me know... thanks
* slightly pull out the battery tray, just a couple innches
* take the cover off the negativ terminal
* disconnet the cable and remove the the leadss from the from the platic clamp on the tray
* slide out the cover and disconnect the starter motor cable asnd main harness connector
Then you can remove the entire battery tray.
You have to unhook everything to get the tray completely out.
I'll try to scan the page from the service manual,
should be same even though mine is a B model ( 2002 )
It worked I guess I was not pulling hard enough, didnt want to break anything... But again thanks for the help... and def thanks for the pics, that really helped again I cant say thanks enough for that..
