Chain Removal

Hey Guys,

I want to remove the chain for a thorough kerosene bath instead of my less effective rag and kero method leaving it on the bike.

With my limited mechanical skills, I've been reluctant to take the front sprocket cover off. My chain has a circlip type master link so getting it off should be easy enough but getting it back over the front sprocket can't be done I assume without removing the front sprocket cover?

Any advice, tips or heads up of anything to watch for getting it back over the front sprocket or the sprocket cover removal/installation would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Thanks Mate.

It might have sounded like a dumb question and a simple task to perform. My concern is because the clutch slave cylinder is attached to the sprocket cover and I don't know if there's anything lurking on the other side e.g. springs that might go flying, oil that'll piss out or anything else that might fall to pieces.

Have you done the job on an 11?

Or anyone else?

Cheers.
