I used to be a ZX-11 owner. I had 1995, but sold it in 2001 to buy a CBR929RR and a GTS1000. Like with my 929, I recall the ZX having a buzz at the handlebars when droning on the highway in 6th gear. I have made a bunch of heavy bar ends for the 929 that seem to greatly alleviate the problem. I could do the same for the ZX-11D. If you want to read more about these bar ends visit this thread: http://fireblades.org/forums/message...09&STARTPAGE=1 Let me know if there is any interest in such a product. If there is enough interest I'll make them. The ones I have in mind for the ZX-11D would be about 2" long and 1.48" in diameter with a rounded end like the CBR ones. Like the CBR bar ends, they would also be made of stainless steel and include stainless hardware. Let me know what you think by either posting a reply here or e-mailing me at hvmparts@hvmparts.com Thanks. - Walt |

I still have mine...I don't seem to remember having any 'buzz', but they sound like a good idea.

Bob, Thanks. This is the kind of feedback I'm looking for. If there is a need, I'll make 'em. I am also more sensitive to "buzzes" as I am a carpal tunnel syndrome sufferer (I'm finally having the surgery in two weeks). - Walt |

The will be similar to the CBR ones available on my website, http://www.hvmparts.com. Click on motorcycles on the left. They will be a bit longer (+0.2") and about 0.04" bigger in diameter for some additional mass. I haven't gotten them quoted yet, but I'm going to estimate about $40 in 303 stainless steel with stainless hardware. I'll try to create a CAD image this weekend and post it. I will also need someone to test the fit which includes taking pics (that person basically gets a free pair). - Walt |

When you write "free", you ring my bell. My ZX-11 is a C model but they surely use the same bar ends than D's. I'm your man if you want me to test fit them on my ZX-11. E-mail me at zxclaude@yahoo.com |

Thanks Claude. Lets see if there is more interest. I also posted on the other forum. I have to make a few at once (20 lot) to meet the previously stated cost bogie. I have a ZX-11D bar end at home. I'll have to take some pics and make some measurements for you to compare to your OEM bar ends. I expect that they will be the same. - Walt |

Walt, I just checked at Kawasaki's website (where parts catalog are available online) and all ZX-11, from 1990 to 2001, have the same bar ends (p/n: 13042-1005). Let me know. Thanks!

I have some CAD pics: Bar End Pic1 Bar End Pic2 Bar End Pic3 A lot of Kawasaki's use the same bar ends, so these will fit quite a few bikes including all ZX-11/ZZR1100, ZZR1200, ZRX1200, and ZRX1100. BTW, bar ends will weigh 13.9 oz each. - Walt |

We just got our St1100 bar ends back from the machine shop today. The ZX-11 ones would be outwardly identical, except would be 0.22" shorter and have the appropriate interface on the bar side. Here is a pic: http://www.hvmparts.com/P2070103.jpg - Walt |

OK, there was enough positive response. We are going to make them. We sent a drawing out to the mchine shop and await a quote from them. BTW here is a pic we just got from the test fitter for the ST1100: Bar end on ST1100 Claude we can use you as a test fitter, but you will need access to a digital camera to take pics for us. Do you have access to one? - Walt |

We had 10 pairs made with our last order of bar ends for other bikes. We are awaiting fasteners and will ship Claude a pair for test fitting. He should get them in about a week and a half. Look for his report here. - Walt www.hvmparts.com hvmparts@hvmparts.com |

Well, I finally received the bar ends and installed them today. First, I was expecting slightly larger and heavier units but wow! they are BIG! I weighted them and each bar end (including the stainless allen bolt and lock washer) are 406.2 grams while OEM one (screw included) is 225.2 grams. The finish have been professionally done and the installation went straightforward without any problem. I did not ride tested them (still winter here...) but they will, for sure, take some vibrations out of the bars. All in all, a great recommended product!
