Ok, I was sittin' here pondering yester year, and I went back and dug up all of my old Fast Bike/ Superbike issues. There I was happy as a lark riding around on my BIG green 9, and in mid Sept. Kaw drops the bomb. The 98 C model. This thing was so light and so powerful, even the testers had no idea how to handle it. (Remember the FIRST Fast Bikes vid. Cover had a new 9 launched off the ground with just throttle. UN-HEARD of power!) Launch test after launch test said the same thing. "OH MY GOD." It was a beautiful thing. Then disaster. 3 weeks later........ YZF-R1. SHIT! Just a thought, has Kawasaki has kicked their selves in the ass again? I remember reading every single little bit of info for 4 years. and the one thing that never changed. It took the GSXR-1000 to beat the 9 in top speed. To quote, "The 9 is point and shoot. Get in, get pointed where you want to go and hang on. It is stupidly fast. like nothing else." I don't care what the Mags say. Once again, it is time for Kawasaki to scare the shit out of every one who rides.  |
