Newb, zx12 owner just picked up a zx10

Any upgrades I should look into, already has Scott's stabilizer, read that is pretty important for these beasts, also has a Micron slip on, think I'd like to go the ridiculous loud, "moto gp" slip on route though. Anyone know what pegs are interchangeable with these bikes, they sit a bit high for me.

Nothing should be this fast.

I dont know much about the 1gen except they are really light weight and fast. Congrats on the new bike. I hope it treats you well.
All I've ever heard about this bike, is to treat it with respect cuz it will show you how it feels if you don't.

the steering stabilizer is the only thing needed

the cracking frames were due to guys who had removed the engine & had to do with the alignment of the motor mounts

if they arent cracked yet they wont.

I have a zx-14 too and 35000 miles on the old zx-10 & every time I ride it I come home with a big $hit eating grin on my face !

It's like here. If you read here, the ZX12R has a lot of issues. When you factor in how many were made, it's only a handful that have issues. Any forum is going to have a lot of problem threads, but even if there are 200 bikes that have been posted on, in all 10's that have been made, it is a small percentage. Those were Monday/Friday bikes...

Define full? What you need to realize is you are looking at a worldwide condensed cross section on any of these boards.. Out of the thousands and thousands of the Gen1 ZX10R's sold what's the failure %? Again go there at .Net and count because one thread with 3 or 4 guys isn't a large percentage of failures. Also remember the GSXR's crack and snap in half a times as well. They all crack.. You got guys landing hard wheelies constantly and riding on very bad roads filled with potholes etc... I've owned 2 Gen 1 ZX10R's one 04 and one 05 neither of which cracked..

The biggest quality issue with the 04 ZX10R was and is the generator failure due to poor quality control from a vendor.. If you notice a loud noice coming from the top case behind the cylinders turn it off yesterday and replace the thing before it explodes because they will, have, and do explode taking the whole motor with them..

There is nothing to define when kawasaki agreed to fix all broken frame back in the day...why would they cover that
Btw i dont care about generator frame cracking that serious safety issue
