| ZX10R '07 Questions
I'm asking a couple of ?'s for my son who came off his 675 Trumpy about 2 months ago, and is now looking at zx10r '07, among others like Aprilia RSV1000's. Not 100% he will get a 10r, but any help with info may sway him! He said some forums over here (Oz) state the suspension on the '07 is crap, and most will upgrade with the '08 forks and rear shock. Any truth to this? Is it a straight swap, with same mount points etc for brakes if the same? Also, he is about 6' 5" tall, I know the 10 is sport focussed, but anyone think it will still be practical for that size? - I have tried to steer him toward a 12, but he's not wanting that at this stage. Cheers, Don.

I had an 06, I didn't notice any suspension problems at all on the street. In fact it was one of my favorite bikes! The stock lower sets will be a little bit uncomfortable, I switched to a set of Vortex lower sets and it was comfortable for me at 6'3" and 260 at the time. Not sure about a suspension swap. Awesome bike! I would rather have an 07 instead of a new 10!

can't say for sure since the only 10r i have been on was an '05, but being 6 foot, the 12r is much more comfortable. the 12 you atually get to stretch out over it. the 10r feels like humping a foot ball and like you're gonna fall over the front. also, too light in the front end, when you try to goose it the bike just lifts instead of pulling ahead. didn't have much torque either. always had to keep it revved to get any response out of it.

Thanks fellas, I showed your replies to my son, he's a bit of an 'Ideas Man' if you know what I mean. He gets ideas of what he wants in his head and dreams away! I'm pretty sure he will get back on a bike soon, as he said the longer he leaves it after his 'get-off' the harder it wil be. He's found a '07 10r, the special edition with red flame graphics, on the 'net for a reasonable price, and is swaying toward that. Mind you, I wouldn't mind acting as 'Acquistion Officer' and test pilot for the 10 when he wants fatherly advice ![]() Cheers, Don.
