Bought a cruiser

Well, the 950 Adventure was too similar to the 950 SE, so I traded in the Adv for a leftover 2005 V2K. It's still at the dealers, last ice storm is still on the back roads and my driveway. Here's a stock photo...

I'll probably ride her home after the new year. Already have a set of pipes on hand, new air filter system and PC3. Guess I'm going to stand out with a FF and KTM enduro gear but who gives a $hit. Something different for me. No fringe or assless chaps, I promise .

Nothing wrong with a little variety ! I like the color - is yours the same ?
One of the better looking cruisers, IMO. Very nice.

Hey Rx, yep, that's my bike. It's a 05 V2K limited with the same paint. They had a 06 classic V2K in silver also, but I really liked the paint on the 05. Should be interesting. I have never been on a bike that doesn't have pegs, from the looks of the floor boards I should wear slippers . It's gonna take awhile to get used to the riding position but should be fun. The freakin rear brake pedal is the size of my trucks  . Really weird, I was in between the cruiser and a ZX14, just wanted to try something different. I'll throw a few pics up when I ride it home.

Torque monster, it will take the 12R out of the hole and eat it for breakfast, after that its over, the 12R is gone. Don't ask me how I know this.

Or is that a built in waterski???

Now you know you're gonna catch hell for that... :D

Yeah I know  . Everybody tells me the floorboards are very comfortable but I still can't get used to the whole concept . Worse case scenario I'll weld up a few supports for some dirt pegs, that should turn a few heads along with my riding apparel

Actually, the running boards give the St. Bernard somewhere to sit. I don't think Bigsaint wants his puppy behind him after the push-up incident.

I've been looking at something along those lines...lookig real hard lately. The wife needs something with hardbags for her hairdryer & clothes.

My friggin' back continues giving me mad issues. I'm still keeping the 14, even if I have to find another pilot for the texas mile.

You'll love it Scott. Get a highway bar (to protect your legs if you go down) and put some fold up pegs on it. Sometimes... it's just damn nice to be cruisin' down the road feeling liked you're propped in a Lazy Boy chair. 8)

Lol @ Jeff

Thanks N/C. Motor guards are on the list for sure and probably the only other add on the bike will see. I'd like to find black powder coat bars, it has more chrome than I care for as is

You'll love the floorboards trust me. I had a Vulcan Drifter with floorboards and loved it when I was in between the sportbike/cruiser phase. I also loved the heel-to-toe shifter on the cruiser. Mine was only a 800cc cruiser and didn't have the balls of a bigger cruiser so I traded it back in on another 12R. You'll like the torque of the bigger bike I'm thinking.

My eyes!!!!

Seriously, nice bike man. I actually tried to bring myself to buy a cruiser this summer but I just couldn't...not quite ready for that amount of weight. I ended up getting an '06 Concours 1000. It is a good compromise for me and the wifey...I still get the somewhat sportbike looks and handling while she approves of the passenger mount and luggage.
Someday I will probably own a cruiser, I really wish they made bikes like back in the 80's though. I had a Suzuki GS750L that was such a comfortable bike and kind of a cruiser but decent handling and light too. If they made something like that in about 1000cc with todays technology it would be great.

Finally picked her up today ! It was a short ride, about 30 miles since the temp was about 20F. Regardless, pretty cool, lots of torque. The ride position feels alien right now but I'm sure I'll get used to that. All in all I'm happy 8) .

New tires and cold roads with salt and grit=huge chicken strips. Not to worry, they will go away when spring thaw hits.
