Hey maryland drag racers, what track?

Hey guys just seeing where everyone here likes to go. Here's a list of local tracks i've found...

75-80 Dragway Monrovia, MD
Capitol Raceway Crofton, MD
Cecil County Dragway Rising Sun, MD
Maryland International Raceway Budds Creek, MD
Mason-Dixon Dragway

Capitol is about 20minutes from me, everything else is about an hour. I was going to try and hit up Capitol maybe this next week for one of their friday night test-n-tunes. I'm willing to make the drive though if there is a better track.

The weather is getting warmer, my 12r will be here on monday, i'm ready to hit the track!

I'll be checking out 75/80 soon. Tech used to be lax/nonexistent

MIR is a quality track. Tech is ok.

Capitol is ok, been there once, might be a little "Happier" than MIR with the times.

Ya, i noticed that Capitol is like 20ft about sea level. Should be some damn nice times there. Besides making sure you have proper helmet/riding gear, and a tether kill switch, what can any tech guy really bitch about? I guess I have been to some places that are just straight assholes, and seemed more interested in keeping you out then having your business. Wasn't sure if anyone had experienced that at the local tracks. Also, if any one track hooked better then the other, or if one was over crowded, etc.

Let me know when you're going to the track next Shiphteey, I'd love to go with. You do much street riding?

Street racing usually more than street riding. MIR hooks great, Capitol ain't bad. Not sure about 75/80.

I've been known to be involved in a little of that back with my last 12, lol. Where in VA you at? I'd love to get together sometime, even to just BS.

I'm over by the Dulles Airport and work at a motorcycle repair/race shop called RnR Cycles. Just getting some of my 12 prepped here and there working on my set-up vs just slapping on lots of parts over the next couple months. Haven't cut anything better than a 1.60 on a stock arm...these A1s just want to come up!

Do they need a bike to test "slapping on parts"? Mine's bone stock.

I'm in need of some basic stuff. 17tooth sprocket, speedohealer, having tires mounted, oil, etc. Does your shop sell that stuff? I'll be doing all the install myself, just need a good place that sells parts and also will mount tires for me.

LOL slapping on parts, well maybe. My 12 is a bit far from stock now. Let me talk to Rick, being bone stock he may offer you a free dyno run so you can know where you a/f ratio is and HP/Torque. We charge $25 to mount tires if you hand us a rim, otherwise its $50 per tire if its on the bike. Repsol is our main sponsor so we usually have good stock. They recently beat Motul (API SL) and are now API SM...biggest difference would be better control of piston deposits, less valve train wear and better protection against oxidative thickening. Got ZX12 OEM Oil filters as well as K&N...and if you decide to go with a BMC race air filter our prices are the best.

FWIW I went 141-142 bone stock as well although with 1.8 60s at stock height in the heat I was going 10.2s.

I would love to go along with ya to Maxton. Some day I would love to race my bike there, but I don't think i'll have the extra dough to set up my bike properly this year (stearing stabilizer, good tires, etc).

Ive never ran a bike at 75/80 but ive run cars there over the years. I cant speak of the quality of the track since they reopened last season. Theres always a good turnout of bikes though on friday nights. Ill be down there this season on an all black zx11.
