In Gainesville Fla. Scotty Jones from Fla. showed up with a new 12 and asked Keith Thompson of Maryland, and Keith Dennis of Memphis to make passes on it.
Bike setup was:
Stock bike 445 miles
not lowered in front except for tie down strap
lowered slightly in back
Stock air filters
Keith Thompson(160 pounds)gets on it and runs 9.61 @ 146 mph with 1.65 60ft.
Keith Dennis(Shine) jumps on and runs 9.54 @ 146mph with 1.62 60 ft.
Scottie took the bike to the Dyno in Daytona the following week:
It made 164.8 to the rear wheel
I took my 2002 ZX12R and put it on the Dyno right before him and mine made 165 to the rear wheel, stock and then dropped in K&N's and the bike made 168.9 on rollon, and 170hp on a all gear.

That is great. I think you sold me on the K&N debate, I am ordering mine tomorrow.
Can you explain why you went with 16/44 gearing instead of 17/48 or whatever the closest match is?
Is there a reason to go smaller at the front instead of larger at the back?
Some people said that 16 was a little tight for the chain it sounds like it is OK if you are running it. Do you think it is OK for the street
Thanks for any setup insights, any information is appreciated,

Rickey thanks for the update!
Awesome times for a virtually stock 2002 ZX12! Keep in mind that Keith is a factory Kawasaki rider now, so his performance is exceptional but it does prove the power of the new 2002! Very impressive!
Keith is local to my area so I'm sure I'll get to see him perform his magic at M.I.R. frequently. Hopefully he wont get in my way <--- just kidding! LOL

Easy it would increase the weelbase to smaller in the front and smaller in the back...... Something Else to think about... These times were run with the 16/44 which comes out to be 2.75... What would the bike run stock gearing 18/46...2.55... Thats a pretty steep gear increase would the older 12's run about the same with same gearing?????????? Something to stew about.........
NOS not for the weak heart..........Woo Hooooo
