Took my vintage enduro out...

I can't think of a better way to end a week of 18 hour work days than getting dirty. I opted for my 83 XT550 yesterday as I haven't had it off road since ressurecting it.

You guys are so spoilt (lucky) for off road riding over the pond.

Over here in the UK we haven't got the open spaces, and all the off road lanes

are restricted by all sorts of shit, Top Green Lane rant,

Nice for doin' it

90mph across the desert floor is an amazing rush. I'm sure there are lots of very cool forest trails and logging roads in your area. A cheap XR600, XL600, XT600, or XR650R would be a perfect mount.

Looks like fun times Zumazoomer! Bike looks almost brand new, great job on the ressurection.

Sunday I did a dual-sport poker run on the ol DR650. It was raining almost the whole time so not much for pictures. It wound up being 140 miles, with about 110 of that logging roads.

I rode alone for over half of the ride but rode with these two KTM's the rest of the ride. One of then turned out to be neighbor that I didn't even knew rode.

Very cool! I think my next DS will be either a KTM 525/530 EXC or ATK 605.

You are blessed with a lot of open country to ride in. Here, we gots all them dang trees and mountians. To get off the logging roads around here, a 450 is a huge bike with harder to control power in technical sections. The 250's seem to be where its at. With that said, I'll take an expendable KLX250 with a big bore kit for the tight shit...and a KTM 690 Enduro for the open areas.
