NEWBIE Question

I looking to add a Muzzy dry nitrous kit and had a few general questions.

Can someone explain how you would start the nitrous? I know you can activate the system with a horn button or starter button, but I'm not sure how it works. Do you have to have a quick shifter? I guess I'm trying to figure out is the kit all I need or do I need to start buying other items to make it all work?

I'm looking to get a bottle that hides in the storage compartment, how long would that last? How much does it cost to refill?

Engine is completely stock, yosh bolt on and pc3 with K&N.

Sorry for the dumb questions.

Thanks!

greenie - (Not being a smartazz) I'd recommend using the site's Search Function... Type-in nitrous, and something like 12 pages of results pop-up... Read up on some of these threads, because most of the questions you're asking are answered there...

You'll then have a better knowledge background to craft your remaining questions!!

go way back to the start of this section of the forum and read all of Wayne Lawsons posts (Kingzx12r). after that you will have a basic understanding and be able to ask specific questions
$10 a pound for refills here. i use a pound per 1/4 mile pass on a 90 hp shot. be warned, its as addictive as crack and can drain your bank account the same way!

switch changes signal from the horn button to go from the horn relays to the nitrous relays. mps makes these switches, called switch swappers. if you hooked up directly yo the horn button you'd fry it

you don't need a quick shifter, but if you're running dry nos dynojet would be the best one since it cuts fuel. nos itself is not flammable so there is nothing wrong with pumping nos straight through the engine with no gas. wet shot gets a little more complicated...

tons of different possibilities to get the bottle (or bottles) under the seat. your bet bet would be to do a search. there are a few threads dealing with bottle location.

if you run the negative to the horn....you do not burn the switch...
