60 shot on stock pistons...yay or nay?

Assuming I get the valvetrain done to hold it and the extra fuel pump as well....

Can stock pistons hold a 60 shot for a mile or so?

I'm of the thinking if mine is holding 40 just fine (tranny aside) then whats a measly 5 more hp per piston?

I'd be willing to keep it supersafe...rich....timing taken out, yada yada....

Supposedly stock pistons are only good for 70 more hp. Would going progressive make that much of a difference?

Good post Phantom....

say I went that route....

could I still spray a 60 thru all the gears for Maxton or will it turn into liquid for at the traps?

Whats wrong w/dry with correct mapping and timing? 30 hp per ram air.

SHIP

HEY CALL RYAN, OR NICK AT SCHNITZ RACING, AND GET THE DETAILS ON THE NEW PC HUB. IT HOOKS TO YOUR PC3 USB AND YOU CAN RUN AS MUCH AS YOU WANT, IT LET'S YOU ADD OR SUBTRACT IGNITION TIMING IN EACH GEAR, YOU CAN ADJUST YOUR FUEL PER GEAR AND HOW QUICKLY IT RAMPS, STORE MULTIPLE MAPS THAT YOU CAN SWITCH BETWEAN WITH THE HANDLE BAR MOUNTED SWITCH, IT WILL DO AUTO SHIFT IF YOU HAVE A SHIFTER, AUTOMATICLY SPRAY YOUR NOS.......ENDLESS POSSIBLITIES.

BUT I STILL WOULDN'T RUN MUCH MORE HP ON STOCK PISTONS, RODS, AND VALVE SPRINGS. UPGRADE AND THROW A HUNDRED SHOT DRY ON THERE WITH THAT HUB.

AND HOLD ON...........LOL

Decent post on the info here. I just want a bike that will smoke my friends 14 hes got. Its fast and he's fast on it, no joke. He run 5.90 stock wheelbase, thats flying. I am trying to get him to come out to maxton and or texas this year. One things for sure, we will be refilling the nos a bunch this time around. No way around it. We will be using tons of nos.
Kepp up the info though, this post is getting interesting.

Since funds are low I think I will stay with the 40 shot for now. I am going to run a 2nd bottle so that when I hit the button, both are hitting simulatenously  The aim is to have virtually no pressure drop all the way to thru the mile. I would suspect my 40 shot nos drops to maybe 15-25 by the time I trap :? With 2 bottles a 40 shot could be sprayed as early as 2nd gear and wrung out in 6th with a strong pull and minimal HP fade

Hopefully with this set-up, the carbon fiber wheels, stronger valve springs and transmission I can see a true 205 mph  in the mile! The beauty of going this route is that I can keep my same mapping, setup, pistons even gear ratios the same and focus on running consistently and safely 8)

Time will tell....truth be told on my final run this season I may spray 50 then 60 just to see what happens since I'm gonna go into the motor again anyways

Pull out 2 degrees of timing with a EFIR-12 or Muzzy adjustable ignition rotor and you'll be fine. Be sure to run 92 octane or better.

Keep air/fuel ratio at 12.5:1 or richer

Enjoy!

Hey Ryan, thanks man! I run pretty rich and have -3 degrees taken out (all done via PC3R)....

Just got the carpenter springs, valve seals and metal chain guard from you guys last week....good prices

DON'T

I WOULD BUY THE EFIR-12 TO TAKE OUT YOUR TIMING, THE PC3R IS NOT VERY RELIABLE ON THE IGNITION PART, I'VE SEEN A FEW GO BAD. SEEMS THEY DIDN'T REALLY GET THERE SHIT TOGETHER TILL THE USB MODEL.
