new to all this

ok.. i have read through loads o f threads and am getting pretty much all the answers i need but i thought i would ask the question anyway..

looking at this kit

http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store...?idproduct=141

not gonna get greedy and am only looking at the 40 shot kit but is this a safe way of running?.. i am already hitting 176 at the rear wheel with a PC3, filters and full Akra system

anyone have any thoughts/comments on the kit?

i am happy to have the bike set up on a dyno after installation should it need it..

all help greatly appreciated

Should work fine. Might want to add 10% in your PC at 100% throttle in the RPM range you'll be spraying. Might also want to have it dyno'd to double-check the a/f ratio.

Hint: I ran two 1.25 bottles under the seat of my 12. 8)

that's the system that i have on my bike, the braided line that comes with the kit will be to short,if you are going to mount the solinoid up by the fuse box, email them before you order, they substituted some parts for me,i just run a single nozzle (brass elbow, with this kit) right in front of the fuse box, with the short line the hit is instant, have fun !!

Yep, got a 40 shot on mine, not a dynotune but their customer service is top notch, had a gauge go out on me and they sent me a replacement for free!

I have their bottle heater and psi gauge. The switch I have is set so I can preset the bottle pressure to a specific psi, it'll warm up, then when it gets too high it'll bleed it off....

....since I'm not the easiest or most anal w/bikes after bonneville and bending connectors back and forth one of the connectors kinda broke. Cheap fix but I haven't done it since I don't run as much in the winter (although a heater is needed even more in the wintertime  )

All i all, throw in some colder plugs, have it mapped rich and if you wanna be really conservative take out some timing. If you have NO starting point take out 3 degrees, I do, it a little excessive but no problems yet for me and I sleep at night. Most don't take out timing and are FINE!

ok guys... very tempted to do this now

i have never run NOS before so i have a couple of real newbie questions

is a 1.25 bottle enough?.. should i upgrade to a 2.5lb bottle.. how many hits from a 1.25 bottle would you expect to get? (i guess that depends on how long you hold the button for) is it critical at what angle you mount the bottle? i want to hide it under the rear seat.. will i need some kind of mounting strap to do this?

sorry for the dumb ass questions but you are the guys in the know :D

also i had her mapped in the summer and got some nice numbers but i seem to remember someone saying the that A/F ratio seemed high..

:?:

thanks guys

NICE 8)

Get the 2.5, trust me, you'll regret getting a smaller bottle when you run and after the first blast or 2 you're DONE.

2.5lb w/a 40 shot lasts me 7/8 of a full mile with 1/2 a lb leftover. You will not be using ALL of the nitrous, remember that as psi drops, as you run outta nitrous, the HIT weakens....so if you use it for 20 seconds, as time passes, it goes from 40 hp, then maybe 39, 38, 37, etc. Bigger bottle means you get more quality hits and a few garbage ones 8)

Go to the strip and you should be good for most events w/1 bottle

you'll fry it if you don't do it right. a 40 shot with the extra fuel and a bit of timing pulled should be safe. ship knows what he's talking about due to plenty of experience with the giggle gas. if you're feeling uneasy then check your afr's on the dyno after you're done to be sure.

Run some colder plugs and high octane fuel, a 20 shot should be fine...but you really should be looking at a way of introducing more fuel, ie PC3.

1. install NOS kit
2. take bike to dyno
3. have it tuned, so that A/F ratios are within safe zone

4. have fun

as with a stock bike bike there is much to be gained by a tech that knows how to run the dyno...my new tech picked up 4hp over the previous map , with no mods done to it at all....
