KLR Police Modifications?

The Merced Co. S.O (Calif.) is purchasing new KLR's for patrol duty. Any info regarding succesful equipment parts, installs and experiences would be greatly appreciated. Dep. Steve Cavallero

I have owned 2 KLRs. If adding any electrical drain to the bike an upgraded and higher output stator would be advised. Also depending on the patrolling to be done a 16 tooth counter sprocket is better for the highway it drops the rpms about 700 rpms. Kawasaki has a great setup as in side bags and a top case. Good luck and enjoy.

good call....

but for a PD, a post would probably work out better... especially if they have a KLR mechanic on duty...

JFC, you know the psychological profiling that would need to take place to be a KLR Mechanic working within Law Enforcement?

Kevin couldn't... He about kicked mine over when he found out they use different sized bolts for all of the fairing pieces up front.
