Here's My New Ride

A 2005 KLR650. Got it for $4,895. I just picked it up on the way home from work awhile ago. It doesn't accelerate (or stop) quite as hard as the 12R, but I think it's going to be fun!

Thanks. It's got some dirt on it now. Tears up the wet grass pretty good too. Yep, got it at Howell Cycle.

Must have been the one he was bringing off the showroom Tuesday night. Now when the weather breaks, get down to the new bike night on Tuesdays from 6 - 9  In fact it was the KLR he was wheeling into the back Tuesday, said a fellow that bought a 12R from him just bought the KLR.

Group ride leaves from Howell Cycle at around 6 and just going to run straight to Brunner's on the east side of town.

Yep, I bought it Tuesday night. I was going to pick it up Wednesday night, but the weather wasn't that great. I bought my 12 from him last June. Bought a Prairie 400 from him when I first moved out this way too :)

I saw the flyers about the ride. I'll have to check it out, especially since I now have a choice of rides! I take it you live in the area? I'm north of the Wrangler Bar.

I'll tell ya what...........when ya walk out to the garage from now on I'll bet you'll choose the KLR over the other a better percentage of the time. 8)

First mod to make is replace the brake lines with steel braided ones. BIG differance!!

Congrats!!!!!! 8)

Thanks Jeff! I need to read up on available upgrades. From the first minute I was on it I, knew those grips will have to go soon :)

She's not gonna stretch your arms like the 12 does, but you'll learn to take her for what she is. 8) Just turned 20k on mine today!! That's pretty much back and forth to work along with errands for the wife. Still run the stock exhaust on mine. She's my one quiet bike in the bunch. It's gotta be........run it down the driveway at 5am every morning, not to wake the neighbors, and hit the button. No warm up.... nothing  These bikes are tuff. Gotta love that Aztec Red!!

Thanks everyone!! Can't wait to ride after work tonight, since it's supposed to rain all weekend here in Michigan. Mud is fun too though :)
