| Any Dual Sporters Here ?
I just sold my Sportstsman 500, so now I have some room in my garage. I want to pick up a dual sport in the next couple days. There aren't alot of choices, but the two I've been looking at are the Kawasaki KLR650, and the Suzuki DR-Z400S. Anyone have any experience with either? Thanks! Kirk ![]()

Depends I guess what ya want to do with it? If your going to commute with it and occationally go off road, go with the KLR. They are heavy for a dirt bike, but light if you compare it to a everyday street bike (342lbs) I think your going to find the 400 just to small for any kind of highway use. I can run my 650 down the road 70 mph all day long with no issue's. These bikes are bullet proof. I believe the model number on the 05's are #19 which means she hasn't be changed or updated in 19 yrs. (outside of going from 600 to 650) Speaks for it's self. Honda has a 650 also??

I own the dr650. It's the lightest and simplest of the 650's. It's more road worthy than the 400. Those from 96 up are all the same. There is some aftermarket support for accs. It also has the lowest seat height. 33" in the low position. 34.5" in the upper. If you are more highway than dirt, get a KLR. If you're more dirt than highway, get a dr.

Thanks for all your coments!! I'm not looking to climb hills :) We spend alot of time in northern Michigan, so I'm just looking for something to explore some back trails and forest roads, with the ability to get around in town. Lots of dirt roads around where I live also. I could do alot of riding with a 6 gallon tank too! Kirk
