| What gloves are you using?
I just attempted to replace my Teknic Speedstar gloves with Spidi Penta gloves because the Teknic gloves aren't very comfortable with seams everywhere pressing on palms and fingers. According to Sport Rider, the Pentas are supposed to be some of the most comfortable gloves they have ever worn. How much did Spidi pay them to say that? The XXXL Pentas are about the same length as the Speedstars in XL and have almost as many seams. The worst part is the web of the finger between the index and middle finger on the right hand is too short on the Pentas and digs into the web of my finger. It doesn't do this on the left hand so it leads me to believe the quality control for fit isn't so good at Spidi. I'm planning on returning the new Pentas to exchange them for Held Phantoms. Does anyone have experience with the Phantoms? How do they fit long fingers? What are you all wearing and are they comfortable? Would you buy them again?

Cortech gauntlets and joe-rocket short gloves. This is my second set of Cortechs, love them----don't wear them anymore because they are green. The regular joe rockets fit me like a glove. ![]() Both are XXL.

I have had a pair of Helimot 365 that have been an awsome glove so far,i have close to 10,000 miles on them, they are made from deerskin, are super comfy, have a built in shield wiper made from leather, not rubber,so no scrtatching of your helmet shield when riding in the rain. They are kinda pricey, but well worth the $$$..Good luck with whatever gloves you choose..Reddawg

Ski-Doo Action Gloves getting cold up here in newengland they do me till the warm weather comes very comfy and warm ![]() I had a nice pair of DAINESE Moto-X Gloves ![]() but i melted and tore the crap outta them trying to put out my CF can that caught fire during a 180mph high speed run lol talk about panic i tried to rip the can off the bike as it was burning to my luck that day another biker with a harley stopped and his ( very hot ) passenger ran over to me with her bottle of poland spring water she was holding talk about timing sure enough that put the fire out (note to others from Muzzys Oval Carbon Fiber Canister ) Note: Carbon fiber mufflers are not recommended for extended high temperature operation such as found in dyno testing or extended periods at high power. Care must be taken to ensure that carbon fiber mufflers are kept well packed to avoid heat damage. Last edited by slykittycat; 12-24-2008 at 06:57 AM. |

I recently splurged on some Dainese FMR's and didn't love them until the second pair. After trying on the gloves and getting a feel for them, I called and asked if I could exchange them for a different pair from the same model line. Ended up having to buy a second pair and return-for-credit the first pair, bascially an exchange, but was very happy afterwards. I can definetly say that not all goves are made the same, even from the same model of glove. Each peice of leather is different and some people have different ways they sew leather so be sure to try a different pair before giving up on the model you like. The only thing I wished was different about these gloves are the perforated holes on the side of the fingers. They can allow a little bit of cold air in when you're riding on a frosty day. |

Normally I go for the Joe Rocket GPX 2.0, these are some good gloves ![]() But I was on newenough.com and ran across a good deal on a Teknic jacket for $139.00 ![]() And I had to get some matching gloves to go with it $68.00 ![]() Add some leather pants to boot, and not I have yet another Leather Suite. Oh well another X-Mas present to myself.

I had a pair of Held Profi's and they were awesome until someone liked them better than I did! I've replaced them with a pair of Held Akiras and I like these better than the Profi's. Problem with Helds is they're a little pricey and once you have a pair nothing else will do.

Phantoms arrived today. They were a bit stiff at first but I was told to expect that until I had worn them for several minutes to give them their initial break-in. The finger seams are much nicer than those on the Spidi Pentas. The fingers are also a bit longer than those on the Pentas as well, which is a good thing because once you grab the grips, the palm area gets pulled back slightly, pulling the finger tips with it. So while the thumb feels long just wearing the gloves, once you grab the grips, all is right. The feel on the controls with the fingers is awesome--almost like not wearing gloves. Now that I know these are "the ones", I can put some rides on them to break them in properly. The funny thing is that I returned the size XXXL (11 euro) Pentas because they were too short and exchanged them for size XXL (11 euro also) Phantoms and they are just about perfect even though they haven't been thoroughly broken in yet. The Euro sizing thing is strange--one manufacturer says an 11 equals 2XL and another says 3XL.
