I have still not seen any KIWI's here in Chicago. They called yesterday and said they were in bad weather and were staying another day in Kentucky and we hope to see them today some time. JEFF

Kiwi

Sorry for the late notice. The Kiwi's have arrived and we have had a week full of fun. Thursday we went to a PUB and had Hot Wings, Getto fries and a few sodas. On friday we went into the City of Chicago only to be rained out. But we still experienced a little down town action and ate at Ricobenne's, Friday evening we met up with OLGREY1, GRUMPY and their wives for dinner . The food was great and the company and conversation even better we laughed and joked for hours. On Saturday I had to work but my Wife entertained them and our good friend DIZZY came through with some great art work for them, That the Kiwi's will cherish for a life time. Sunday Mr Kiwi and myself are going to head out for a ride the sun is shinning and the weather is nice. Than it is off to my MOMS for a good home cook meal.

Sunday Mr Kiwi and myself rode about 60 miles and stopped at 2 Harley shops. Mr Kiwi rode my ol school bobber and I was on the Big Bear. For the last 25 miles we switched. The bikes ran great for their first time out this season. I have been trying to convince Mr Kiwi either one of the would be "SWEET AS" in his garage. Me Kiwi just responded "FUCKIN AY" after our ride we sat outside had a cocktail or two and just relaxed in the sun with the misses. Later in the afternoon we went to MOMS for dinner she made a feast. Mr Kiwi remarked "HE HAS NEVER BEEN HUNGRY WHILE IN AMERICA". Sunday nite was kind of a bummer as the Kiwis are leaving in the Morning. I will ride with them on the goldwing as far as Milwaukee (Harley Museum) than I am heading back home. I will post the outcome of our last day tonight.

Well guys it is Thursday and one last update from me. Monday was a beautiful day but I was called to do a service call. So my days of playing were done. The Kiwi's and myself had a nice breakfast of French toast and bacon ( AKA "GAP FOOD") and shared a few minutes of conversation, And off they went to Milwaukee. It was a little hard watching them leave, we had the best time with them. When speaking with them before they left they said they enjoyed their stay and the last thing I remember was something like in two years "WE'LL BE BACK". GO200 called on Tuesday and we talked a little it was nice to hear from him. To everyone who attended the rally this year THANK YOU. We will cherish the memories for a lifetime. A special note to the KIWI'S, the boys go to your room every morning looking for you two and when you don't come out they are sad. Bruiser (potbelly pug),Choppers (moth),Gixxer (Speed demon) and Rocky (the black sheep) all miss you two and say HI. It has been a few weeks that will forever be stored in the memory banks as "FRIENDS FOR LIFE"

But it has been a great trip, big thanks to Mike and co, and also to Jeff and Jackie, who showed us a great time.

Flying out from LA tomorrow, kinda sad about that. Will post up in a decent manner from home...

Sweet as aye.

Talking The Kiwis have landed.

We have arrived safely back home and all is as it should be. The 19 hours in the air was not too bad as we got a free upgrade to premium economy, which equals more of everything, so we did get a pretty good sleep.

We really did have a fine time and made some good friends. For us travelling is more about meeting people and enjoying their company just as much as seeing the country. The rally was a little damp but we still managed to ride over 700 miles that week, and spirits were good, food and grog was great as was the company.

The Honda went through the dragon like a supertanker, but it was still a ride.

We did 7500 miles in our rent-a-racer Hyundai, got 104 mph out of it ( gps ) and it never missed a beat. Biggest day was 750 miles. After we left Chicago, we visited Wisconsin, Sth Dakota, Wyoming , Utah, and Nevada then on to San Fran and down the Pacific coast hw to LA.

Of course we were never going to have enough time, but we did have a brief look at areas we had not seen like The Badlands. The US really is a beautiful country, and we had no drama's with any thing or anyone.

So once again a very big thanks to Mike for organizing it all and putting up with us afterwards. We sure did teach those waterjugs who is boss aye Mike?

Also to Jeff and Jackie who took us into their home and showed us around Chicago. Good times.

Thanks to John Roo for leading the rides, and teaching us how to dance and sing....

We will be back in a couple of years, maybe the rain will have stopped by then... jk.

Great to see you 2 made it home with no problems!!

As usual, it was great to see you guys as well as everyone else who made the trip to tha Gap... The rallyment was a bit damp, but we rode enough & got in some good lying, so I call it a "win"!!

Ha!! Yer Rent-a-Racer Hyundai got a good work-out, I see; & you should really speak with more reverence when referring to "The Mighty Honda", as we were never without up-to-date ambient temperature information while it was present!!

Sounds like ya'll had some fun & that's what it's all about!!

BTW - Had some time to count a bit & it looks like our range outings put about 1200 rounds (mostly .223 caliber) downrange!! I have also just found a new source for ammo & they specialize in tracer rounds... Those are fun!!

See ya next time... I promise no rain!!

Hey - Michael has been working on getting his passport & associated stuff... Looks like he took Jazz's advice seriously!!

John - You made the rallyment happen, bro... THANK YOU for leading so many of our rides... I know it killed you to ride your bike in the wet, but you hardly even cried @ all!!

Seriously, I hope you had as much fun as I did!!

...And the Roo thing... ...Fuggin' PRICELESS, D00d!!

Thanks J. Was good to meet you too. Always good to put a face to the name.

We did consider driving back via the deep south, maybe next time.

Look forward to riding with you again sometime.

Kiwi,

Glad you made it back safe and sound. It was great to see you and Jazz again and look forward to seeing you again in 2 years. I think that those of us that attended the rally all agreed that this was the best one yet and you 2 had a lot to do with that. I also think that I can speak for the rest of the Chi-town crew (and our wives) and say that the dinner with you and Jazz was special and extended the rally "moment" for all of us. We would have really enjoyed being able to spend more time with you.

Stay safe.

Terry

Oh yeah, PM me your home and e-mail address if you would. Thanks
