Do you guys over sea's find things that you like but is like only available in the United States unless you want to pay outragous shipping costs and such?

I have seen things on cars, bikes, etc. But cant find a dealer in the US and prices in euros or yen, thats a hassle in its own to convert and get proper payment sent.

So I guess do you people in Europe, Asia, or wherever find things that you wish was easier for you to get instead of doing international shipping?

So I'm heading back into Franklin in my work vehicle from a little unincorporated town called Leipers Fork. It's about 12 miles from my house. I'm very familiar with the roads out there because I ride them quite frequently. Anyway I'm looking left then right as I'm getting ready to make a left hand turn at a stop sign. I see this red car coming from my right and it's at least 3/8ths of a mile or more away. So I turn left and proceed into Leipers Fork at 30 mph. I traveled about an 1/8th of a mile from my turn and I hear this car gearing down behind me. I'm like what the hell is that. It sounded like a full blown Indy car. I hear this thing over my loud truck. Anyway, I'm trying to check it out in my side view mirrors, as my rear view mirror is blocked, and I can just see a portion of the front end. It looks very similar to a Corvette and in fact that's what I thought it was. I was saying to myself damn,,,,that dude has that thing tuned up! So I proceed on thru the Leipers Fork at 30 mph. This car is about 2 car length back from me so I'm still thinking it's a Vette because it looks wide, and still marveling at the sound of it when he revs it.

When we get thru that hamlet I make a right hand turn on this road that heads back to Franklin. It's a fairly curvy road but it's only 4 miles long till the next turn. Anyway, this guy turns with me. He follows me a very short piece down the road and as we approach a set of "S" curves, I'm thinking that this guy is going to pass me when we exit this "S" curve if all is clear. He's still about 2 car lengths back. When we got out of that curve I heard him tromp down on that car and I swear he went by me so fast I couldn't tell what kind of car it was. All I noticed was a wing rising up out of the rear of it. I've never seen a car accelerate like that unless it was on a track.

Well, the car was gone! I knew he was headed for a school zone up the road and it was time for the buses to be out. I was hoping he would get stuck behind one so I could catch up and see what kind of car it was.

As luck would have it, about 6 miles later as I approached the first red light on the next road into town, I saw that Ducati red car about 2 cars back from the light, waiting to go straight. There was a car behind the red one I wanted to see so I pulled up in the right hand turning lane to get beside it.

As I get close I see it says Carrera GT on the back of it in about 2 inch chrome letters. Like I said earlier, I couldn't see that when he passed. Another thing I notice is the wing is down again. It wasn't a convertible, however it had a roof something similiar to T-tops with out the support beam down the middle.

Anyway, I want to talk to the dude. I pull up beside him, and I see it's Dario Franchitti, the Indy car driver. He and Ashley Judd live just a few miles from where I first saw the car coming down the road, so that made sense. I said that's a bad ass car man. I told him I ride sportbikes and I didn't know if my bike could accelerate like that. He laughed and said thanks and gave me the thumbs up. The light changed and we were on our way.

So as soon as I got back to the office I googled Carrera GT and I found out why I had never seen anything like that before in person. Only 1270 were made from 2004 to 2006. Only 604 of them were sold in the states, starting at $414,800. That's not a misprint fellas. They came with a V10 engine with over 600 horsepower stock. I'd be willing to bet that his wasn't stock.
And that wing I thought I saw coming out of the back,,,,,,,it goes up as the car reaches a certain speed (I think 70 mph) to smooth the air over the car:scared:.

I don't know what's more humbling! The fact that that Carrrera GT cost more than two of my houses and I'll never have one, or that it might, just might, out accelerate my ZX-10R!:headscratch:

I got hit with rubber but not enough to take me out completely. I tucked down a swerved left towards the Jersey Barrier and pinned it to get away from the danger.

I guess I am not how I used to be where I was crawling around under the car or leaning inside the hood for hours fixing things on my vehicles but now I am aching all over after few hours working on my wife's car :banghead: Did the brakes (all 4 wheels) last week and rear struts today :scared: I thought it was going to be just couple of shocks, remove & replace....WRONG :banghead: needed spring compressing tool and both top nuts that hold the shocks inside the struts were rusted so bad I was not able to remove them. I ended up taking them to 2 different shops. One shop wanted $75 to do them for me and they are off the car mind you  so I went to another shop right next door to this shop and they wanted $54 to do them.....I told them to go ahead......they asked me to come back in an hour.....got back to them and found they couldn't do it because they spring compressor is not the right one to do this job so I ran to another shop down the road from them. After talking to a mechanic that I have been to 2 different shops and I am not having any luck so instead of wasting my time here I needed to know if they can do it.....he looked at me as I am crazy for even asking but he said "yes, we can, just go inside and get a ticket created and drop them off with us....." I just hung around after I drop them off.....I can see one mechanic struggling with them so I walked around praying that he can change them for me......40 minutes or so later the shop manager came out and told me they are ready and $50....I was happy to hear that they were done and cheaper than every shop I have been to.....:thumbup::thumbup: Mechanic came out and talk to me about them...he said the nuts were rusted real bad and he ended up cutting them off.....whew!!!!!! :ohno: Got home and put them back on and took the car for a ride.....OH YEA......much better.....Monday I am getting a set of tires for her car and done with it....... :mfclap: :king:
