Unhappy Ethenol

I just bought a new 2014 Concours 14 and my last bike was a 1998 Ninja zx6r. I had always used regular unleaded in my Ninja, but since my Concours is fuel injected, is it okay if I run the 10% ethanol blend in it? I was told with a car if you stick with it all the time then you're fine? I have always used ethenol in my 2003 focus and have over 318,000 miles on it and have never had an issue; and it even has the original fuel pump in it yet. I know a bike is different than a car but any suggestions what to use???
Thanks! Steven

Not recommended in small engines that sit for long periods of time, the ethanol breaks down very fast. I guess if you are riding it every day it would be ok. I know it makes my zx14 run sluggish.

Unless the fuel says Non-Oxygenated, it's a standard ethanol blend. Everything manufactured today, especially fuel injection, is designed with this in mind. Small engines, like lawn mowers and chain saws, benefit from non-oxygenated fuel for the above reason and a few others. Your bike will be just fine running an ethanol blend. It is designed with a 15% blend in mind being a 2014, as they are entertaining the changing the standard.

If you need to store it for winter or any length of time, you can apways add some Stabil to it, and run it to get it thru the system and you'll be just fine. While I personally dislike ethanol, there is only one pump close to me without it, and since it doesn't get used much, you usually get a tank full of water...so I just run pump blend.

Thank you for your reply! I have been reading in my owners manual that it is approved for using the ethanol blend gasoline, since most pumps are ethanol nowadays it seems. I think I will go that route and add the Stabil like you mentioned during the winter months.

Some stations have premium unleaded ethanol free. It's about 3.30 a gallon in Charlotte NC area depending on the area
