Kawasaki GTR1400 tyre sensor battery

I have a 2008 Kawasaki GTR1400. I am out of the 3 year warranty. They batteries in the tyre pressure sensor have now gone but there are posts on the internet stating that these batteries are covered up until 5 years. Is anyone aware of this and where is it stated

Seems like it is hit and miss. Have you seen this how to replace the batteries?

TPMS mod to use removable Battery

It might be something we all will learn to do if we keep these bikes for a while.

By the way, welcome to this place! Lots of good stuff and people floating around!

Thanks a million. I changed to the GTR from a BMR R1200GSA because it was complicated to work on. I dislike all this trickery

I understand that if the sensors are removed, the display won't indicated anything to include the low battery warning.

Periodically, I find myself cycling through the display checking for a sign of leak. Other than that, I still use the tire gauge to check before I ride.

I'll never purchase new sensors because of a low battery. I might do the mod, but may just put in regular stems when the time comes.
