Spring is in the air. It's been in the 40s the past few days and according to the weather channel forecast the nice temps will continue. Hopefully I'll find enough time and patience to install the damper mount.

A few summer updates:
A friend of mine who races in the WERA series and is sponsored by racetech offered to have my forks and shock revalved/rebuilt/tweaked for free. The difference is very pleasing. The spring they included with the rear shock was purple and a pain to repaint a more sensible silver. Its rate is also based on a 550lb wet 12r, so I had to do a little preload tuning. In the words of Ferris Bueller "It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."

I also added this little billet rear brake reservoir, eliminating the black hose, cup, and cup bracket:

I have a set of Protons installed they are much brighter than my old Gregg's fit isn't as good but close i think they will fit perfectly flush on the 2002 + ZX12R's as there Signal holes are smaller
and to make them fit all years they matched them to the 2002 + Models
Much better forward visibility and AAA+++ Top F&#Kin Notch Customer support.

I have a problem with my right Side Proton going out while bike is running and as soon as i shut the bike off and turn it back on it works fine again.

I called up the maker of the protons High Tech Speed and they are advance shipping me a new one today should be here tomorrow as there only 100 miles away from me in Massachusetts.

Install was faster and simpler than the Gregg's I'm Happy with them
here is a video of them not that it really shows how bright they really are
and the flashing in between the blinker flash is only picked up by the camera not the human eye

All done for now!
It's been a long winter of trolling ebay, translating Japanese, waiting for the UPS/FedEx/USPS/EMS/DHL man to arrive with my goodies, and lots of tinkering. Here's what came of it all:

Now I can enjoy it for the next few weeks before I have to pull the motor for a little boring, stroking, and porting.

I calibrated the speedo today with my yellow box and finished off the install of the CF inners. It took some tinkering to get everything just right. I also used the PC3R to advance the timing 4 degrees higher in the rev range.

It still needs a bath before I can take any sweet shots. I took it out for a short ride this afternoon and I am very impressed with the new levers. They're extremely comfortable simply because they're wider. I'll have some more shots this week.

Well I'm nearing the end now and I am very content. It was able to spend a few hours in saddle this afternoon and the bike feels great! I mounted the windscreen and CF inners this morning, however I hit a snag with the right side.

The top-most fairing screw on the lowers goes into an L bracket that acts to keep the cowl and lower together and to support the inner. Since the auctmart fairings don't have the provisions to hold the L bracket, I've decided to simple JB weld them to the bottom of the inners. It worked beautifully on the left side, however on the right my mounting location needs a little help. I'll play with it a little as the bad weather approaches.
I also added the new sprocket, nut, and washer today. Looks great.

I'm just waiting to hear back from my CF guy about wraping what's left of the cover or spending the time to sand it smooth and repaint.
I have a few other odds and ends in the works/shipping system like preload adjusters, Titax levers, new leathers, and possibly a ZX10r shock.

Lightech mirrors installed.

I had to hog-out the mirror mounting holes a bit to get them to fit. They don't offer much in the way of Y-axis visibility, but they reduce the X-axis blindspot quite a bit. They'll take some fine-tuning and acclamation but they look great and weigh less than 4oz each(the stock mirrors are 1.2lbs!)!.
All I have left is fine-tuning the raim air covers (currently playing with the L-brackets that serve as the top lower mount) and drilling the four holes for the windscreen.
