When I was little I always wanted to be a cop, fireman, or ambulance driver. At an early age I found out that cops like to be mean to people so I crossed being a cop off my listment and added being a gigolo.

A little something one of my instructors told us. Nothing against LEOs, just thought it was funny.

LOL and the joke they told us in the academy was " why are FFers and prostitutes the same ? Because they both earn the bulk of their living while in bed " .

While I hardly believe that FFers spend most of the their time sleeping you can see the twisted logic to the un-informed. I have the utmost respect for you guys. I'd much rather deal with drunk assholes on a regular basis over the option of entering a burning building  . I am somewhat envious of your hours though 8)

around here, 85% of calls are EMS related, only a paltry 15% are fire. But anyways, I agree with your comment about the uninformed.

Another instructor told us earlier in the academy that is we are scared, go get a job on a k9 unit so you can have a dog with you.

Not really, I was able to get away from it before any serious injury. It was a lot of fun.

i was offered a job in a porn book store once. i was very interested until i asked about the peep show booths and who cleans them. needless to say i walked out without a job and a 3 pack of black tail.
i though it would be cool to be a cop once too. until i realized that my lack of patience and propensity towards violence would get me fired within a week.
