92 250R ignition switch

My friend has a 92 250R and his key is broken off in the ignition. I guess he called a locksmith to remove the broken key and the locksmith wanted more than he was willing to pay to remove they key. (he only paid $600 for the bike) I know we can eliminate the ignition switch and replace it with a toggle switch. I was wondering if anybody knows what type of switch I would need and how to wire it. I've read that you also need some type of resistor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Got an igntion switch with good key, $40 to your door if you're interested.
